A Policy of Reconciliation
The Presidents of Seventy are deeply concerned that many who have been called to bring the church together, appear committed to the division of the work. In an attempt to be proactive in this matter, they would like to propose the following plan.
1. We encourage the Saints to establish and maintain a confidential prayer list of key individuals who either are actively trying to divide the work, or who are passively encouraging the division instead of standing against it.
2. We will make an effort to personally visit those who raise questions and accusations, and try to resolve differences according to the law of reconciliation. The law in Matthew 18 requires personal contact with those who offend.
3. When false allegations are made in a public format, we will make every effort to identify the accusation, not the accuser, and answer in a public forum or on our website in a question and answer format.
