HEEDING the call...Find My Scattered Sheep!

We need your help reaching Saints who live in (or near) the greater Chicago area. This outreach applies to ALL members of the church formerly known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and includes those who may have been disenfranchised by theological differences or other reasons.

Many of you are still in contact with them. They may be worshipping in other denominations, the Community of Christ, or may have ceased worshipping completely.

A special worship service to bring these Saints together will be held on May 2, 2010. This service will extend a hand of friendship with open hearts and arms. By worshiping together we hope to set aside our differences and find unity in the Spirit by focusing on our Savior and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ministry will be provided by members of the Quorum of Seventy. After the sermon, a Q&A session will be held. A reception will follow the service for additional fellowship

When: May 2nd, 2010 at 2:00PM.
Location: St John's United Church of Christ, 1475 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine, IL 60067-1210.

For additional information visit: www.restorationseventy.org, www.conferenceofbranches.org, or contact Br Kohn at: rekohn@comcast.net; (847) 560-0054
Please make this outreach service a matter of prayer.

A Policy of Reconciliation

The Presidents of Seventy are deeply concerned that many have been called to bring the church together appear committed to the division of the work. In an attempt to be proactive in this matter, we would like to propose the following plan.

1. Establish and maintain a confidential prayer list of key individuals who either are actively trying to divide the work, or who are passively encouraging the division instead of standing against it.

2. We will make an effort to personally visit those who raise questions and accusations to try to resolve differences according to the law of reconciliation. The law in Matthew 18 requires personal contact with those who offend.

3. When false allegations are made in a public format, we will make every effort to identify the accusation, not the accuser, and answer in a public forum or on our website in a question and answer format.

What are the Seventy doing?

Many of you are aware of Seventy Randy Vick’s blog chronicling his experiences abroad.  You might not be aware that the Seventy recently established a new blog to help keep the saints aware of their  efforts.  In addition the Seventy also have made podcasts availble for your listening.

Jesus predicted troubling times before He returned in the last days. “when ye shall see these things, know that [the return of Jesus Christ] is near at hand” (Matthew 24:33 KJV). If you would like to know more about Jesus Christ send us an e-mail.
